Today’s Challenge: Learn How to Frame

Reframing is a simple cognitive technique fundamental to perspective-taking and seeing options. It works like this. Think of the ubiquitous water bottles that most of us carry around these days. Plastic ones, disposable ones, expensive keep-your-water-cold-for-24-hours ones. How many other uses does a water bottle have? As a vase. As a mixing bottle for your salad dressing. As a container for sand sculpting. As transport for a letter to the universe thrown in the ocean. And, if plastic and cut in half … as a funnel, as a pot for planting. & etc.

Fundamental to better decision-making is to see options. This can be practiced. Start now. How many ways of seeing can you apply to the dilemma that occupy your mind on this Monday morning?
