5 Types of Conflict: Structural

Structural Conflicts

A structural conflict is borne out of constraints in the environment in which the problem is situated, and are either internal to the conflict or external to the conflict. Internal dynamics in structural conflicts arise based on the prior destructive behavior of the parties toward each other, an unequal allocation of resources, and control or power. External dynamics in structural conflicts arise based on time constraints in the dispute, and complications of geography and environment.
